Inequalities An inequality is a math sentence that compares two quantities that are not equal. Example: 5 > 3

Translating verbal statements... < means “is less than” ≤ means “is less than or equal to” > means “ is greater than” ≥ means “is greater than or equal to”

Graphing Inequalities An inequality can be graphed on a number line ** graph together

Use an open circle when graphing an inequality with because the number is not part of the solution Example: p > 2
