City of Appleton Stormwater Management Update Presented to the January 22, 2013 Utilities Committee

Ongoing Projects CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS:  Reid Golf Course Ponds, Channel Modifications, and Bridges FLOOD STUDY PROJECTS:  CTH OO Basin  Manitowoc Road Study Area CAPITAL PROJECTS:  Douglas and Outagamie Streets (Spencer Locust Basin)  Ballard Road Urbanization/Lightning Drive Construction STORMWATER MANAGEMENT PLAN UPDATE GREEN TIER WATER RESOURCES SITE DEVELOPMENT STORMWATER REVIEWS

Reid Golf Course Ponds and Channel Modifications  Construction started early November 2012  Earthwork wrapped up for winter on January 18, South Pond retaining wall work will extend into early February.  Start again in March/April – weather permitting

CTH OO Basin Study  Revised memo submitted to City for review.  Inlet capacity analysis for Ballard Road is complete.

Manitowoc Road Study  City reviewing draft memo.  Reviewing options in conjunction with future 441 reconstruction. Discussions with WisDOT ongoing.

Douglas and Outagamie Design Assistance  City reviewing draft memo outlining revised alternatives for Spencer Locust area.

Ballard Road Urbanization and Lightning Drive Alignment Evaluation  City reviewing draft memo for stormwater quality and quantity management measures to meet NR 151 and NR 216 requirements. Also evaluated options for compliance with floodplain and wetlands requirements.

 Updated WinSLAMM model based on WDNR guidance documents.  Continuing to interact with WDNR on TMDL implementation and modeling for compliance with Waste Load Allocations.  Revised base load and existing conditions TSS and phosphorus loadings was completed in October. Revising street sweeping based on new street sweeping routines.  Waiting for further direction from WDNR for comparison with TMDL numbers. Stormwater Management Plan Update
