What’s the Best Price? By: Blaire Bledsoe

Unit Rate Unit rate is a ratio that compares quantities of different units. To find the unit rate of something you divide the price by the number of oz. oz price

Cereal #1 The number of ounces in Essential Choice is 16.4 oz. So to find the unit price for every ounce you divide $2.37 by Ounces Price = $2.37 Price Per Ounce=.15

Cereal #2 The number of ounces is 16.4 also. But the price for this box is $3.58. So to find the unit price for every one ounce you divide $3.58 by Ounces Price = Price Per Ounce=.22

Cereal #3 This box of cereal has 15 oz in it. So to find the unit price you divide $3.58 by 15 to get the price per ounce. Ounces Price = $3.58 Price Per Ounce=.24
