Fundación Esplai is a nonprofit organization based in Spain that provides resources and services to support the development and networking of community associations and organizations. Esplai strengthens and involves civil society organizations in the struggle for social inclusion by developing projects, initiatives, and alliances with other social actors, government organizations, and the private sector. Fundación Esplai e-inclusion tasks are part of a bigger strategy to overcome the digital divide. It coordinates two programs based on a network comprised by grassroots entities that include the telecentre within its strategy to work for social inclusion. More Information: conecta-conecta-joven-comprimithttp:// conecta-conecta-joven-comprimit Fundación Fundación Esplai also coordinates other NGO and governmental telecentre networks and offer training services to other telecentres throughout Spain. What do we do

4500 telecentres in Spain Which are the most outstanding telecentre networks or actions in your country? There are different telecentre networks in Spain: two networks at national level, Redconecta (Fundación Esplai) and Telecentre.es from Ministery of Industry; more than 15 telecentre networks at regional level. Does the NTA leading organization manage a telecentre network? If so, how many telecentres are in the network? Red Conecta. We have 63 Red Conecta centers in Spain and work with 100 associated telecentres. What are the most popular tasks and usages in the telecentre? Training on the basic digital literacy and virtual communication tools Which social groups use the telecentre most frequently? Adults, women, young people Telecentres in your country

What word do you use to refer to a motivator in your country? Dinamizador/Dinamizadora How is a telecentre motivator’s professional profile in your country? Graduates, 34 years old average with a mix of technical and social skills. Facilitators 3500 Number of potential motivators who could be reached in the future

What is your experience on motivator training up to now? About motivator training TrainingTraining resourcesE-learning training Training and e-learning training Since 2001, Fundación Esplai has been developing peer to peer and e-learning courses for telecentre facilitators throughout Spain. From 2005 more than motivators have been trained: 100 training activities distributed in 9 calls (3 per year) 27 courses developed from scratch 72% attendants have passed succesfully Activities are organized in 3 levels; Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced, according to the motivator’s experience both in technical and methodological skills. We use mainly E-ducativa platform. Training resources We have developed different resources. Easy Computer is a methodology for basic digital literacy, resulting from cooperative work among a group of motivators from Red Conecta: Some of the resources have been pooled from knowledge already available in the network (motivators, organization, coordinators, trainers…) and structured by Fundación Esplai The handbook for the beginner motivator (handbook for brave motivators) Online cooperation tools, for instance e-pandora: a database of activities and good practices proposed by motivators. We also coordinate and develop websites with other resources
