INTRODUCTION Today we will be… Reflecting On Where You Are In Relationship To The Five Key Leadership Traits. Workbook p. 3 Shining The Light On Five Leadership Traits that “Great” Leaders Consistently Reflect In Their Leadership Style.

“Remember The Titans”

for His Kingdom comes from… Workbook p. 4 “Leadership is probably the most misunderstood word in our vocabulary today. Leadership is not personality, not a position, not endowed to a certain few. Leadership is that certain something that is ‘bought with a price.’ It is bought with a price that can be paid by anyone, anytime, anywhere and YOU are as much a leader today as you are going to be, because the price you are paying today is determining the leader you will be tomorrow. Everyone has an obligation, as well as the privilege, of leading in something. Leadership begins with a simple decision to pay the price and ends the moment you cease to pay it.” Charles T. Jones Leadership Greatness

Workbook p. 5 Jesus Anointed at Bethany During supper, a woman came in with a jar of expensive perfume. She broke the seal and poured the perfume over His head. Wherever the Good News is preached, this woman’s deed will be talked about in her memory. Mark 14: 3,9 Leadership Greatness

John The Baptist I tell you, among those born of women there is no greater than John. Workbook p. 5 He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less. John 3:30, Luke 7:28 Leadership Greatness

L E A D E R S H I P G R E A T N E S S Through “ So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son…and went to the place of which God had told him.” Genesis 22:3 Workbook p. 6 ANSWERING HIS CALL

is God’s invitation to join Him in accomplishing His purpose through each of us.” – Henry Blackaby It is a unique and individually based invitation that is… “Calling… Personally Addressed, Personally Written, Personally Delivered Workbook p. 7 Answer His Call

Abraham …Genesis 12:1-4 Moses …Exodus 3:1-4:18 Mary …Luke 1:26-38 Peter …Matthew 4:18-20 Paul …Acts 9:1-18 Just as God called these heroes of the faith by name, He has called you by name. Answering His Call

As a leader within the body of believers, our primary calling is by Him, to Him, and for Him. So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7 Workbook p. 8 Person – His Son

His Calling, To His Leaders Is First To A… What’s in a Calling?

We are called to serve God’s purpose. Scripture clearly links our calling with God’s purpose. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord... who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace… II Timothy 1:8-9 Workbook p. 8 Purpose - His Agenda

You can measure your connectivity to God’s calling by its link to your passions. Workbook p. 9 God has uniquely called you to accomplish a unique task. You can be passionate while not enjoying everything about your assigned task. But if God has called you to it … and you do it you will have a passion for it. Passion – His desire in your heart

Workbook p. 9 Calling is unique…and His path for you includes the preparation needed to succeed in your unique calling. God’s calling will always push you beyond your comfort zone. What we learn and how we grow can be a tool in our hands to distract us from answering our calling… or a tool in God’s hand to equip us for our calling. Path – His map for your journey

God places each of us in leadership roles within and for His kingdom. Workbook p. 10 Your role in your family… Your role in your ministry… Your role in your community… If you are faithful with His current assignments for you, He will trust you with future assignments. Position – His roles in your life

We are called… to a person (Jesus), to a person (Jesus), for a purpose (God’s), with a passion (He provides), down a path (He directs), in positions (He assigns). Workbook p. 10 What’s in a calling?

How do you know His calling on your life at this moment? Answer His Call

1) God confirms your calling through His Son, His Spirit, and His Word. 2) God gives you a passion for your calling. 3) God uses those who know you best to confirm your calling. 4) God reveals your calling to you through a specific and individual assignment. 4) God reveals your calling to you through a specific and individual assignment. Workbook p. 11 Answer His Call

How do you know if you are centered in His calling? Workbook p. 11 Centered in His Calling

Workbook p. 12 1) Your calling will create an openness on your part to allow God to move you from where you are to where He wants you to be. 2) Your calling will also involve moving people from where they are to where God wants them to be. Centered in His Calling

3) You will be completely dependent upon God. 4) You will discover a peace that can overcome the frustration found in ministering to difficult people and ministering in difficult circumstances. Workbook p. 12&13 When you are on God’s agenda, you will passionately desire to minister not passionately desire a ministry. Centered in His Calling

5) You will find yourself looking to God and to godly people for counsel and direction. Workbook p. 13 Leaders in the center of God’s calling seek to accomplish the goals and ambitions set by God, not their own goals and ambitions. Centered in His Calling
