Troop 54 Election Process

Elections – Why? When do the elections take place? Every 6 months Every 6 months –Nominations - last meeting in April and October  Excused absent scouts are called and asked if they want to run for a position  Scouts can not run for more than 3 positions –Officer and staff elections - 1 st meeting in May and November –Patrol leadership positions - 2 nd meeting in May and November

What are the positions? What are the By-law requirements for leadership positions? Troop officer requirements: Troop officer requirements: –a. First class or above. –b. Must have been a patrol leader. –c. Must have attended Scoutmaster Troop Junior Leader Training. –d. Voted in by troop with Scoutmaster’s approval. Troop staff officer requirements: Troop staff officer requirements: –a. First Class Rank or above –b. Voted in by the troop with Scoutmaster’s approval

What are the By-law requirements for leadership positions (cont.)? Patrol Leader and Officer requirements: Patrol Leader and Officer requirements: –a.
