FDR AND THE NEW DEAL Civilian Conservation Corps: (CCC) Some 2.5 million jobs created for youth to plant trees and build bridges Works Project Administration: (WPA) Gave jobs to 25% of Americans to build roads, airports, buildings, playgrounds, and golf courses

FDR AND THE NEW DEAL Tennessee Valley Authority: (TVA) Created job and cheap electricity to poor rural areas by building dams along the Tennessee River

FDR AND THE NEW DEAL Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA) - Raised crop prices by lowering production National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) - protected workers, ensured collective bargaining, and preserved the right to unionize

SOCIAL SECURITY ACT The Social Security Act, passed in 1935, had 3 parts: 1.Old-Age Pension 2.Unemployment compensation 3.Aid to families with dependent children & disabled (welfare)
