Physics Cases Summary Matt Amthor Bucknell University ReA12 Recoil Separator Workshop – July 12, 2014

Timeline of physics cases  August 2013 Low Energy Community Meeting, MSU  Recoil separator satellite workshop  Recoil separator working group meeting  Goal: to select a preferred separator system  Conclusions:  Physics cases must come first: details, not just concepts  Many experiments need a larger mass resolving power than a gas-filled option can provide (keep gas-filled-mode concept)  Solicitation and collection of physics cases from the community after August and again in Spring 2014  17 physics cases collected  “Evaluated” by working group conveners to determine unidentified experimental parameters ( →spreadsheet). 12 July 2014ReA12 Recoil Separator Workshop, East Lansing2
