How do we pray with power? The two biggest prayer mistakes 1. Our prayers are often too small 2. Our prayers are often too general James 4:2 “...you do not have because you do not ask God.”

The ancient Jews traditionally prayed standing up Kneeling denotes reverence and humility Ephesians 3:14-15 “For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.”

Ephesians 1:3 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” Philippians 4:19 “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 3:16-18 “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ”

“power” = δύναμις (Greek) The explosive miraculous power of God Ephesians 3:16-18 “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Understanding God’s love is not a religious thing "The Holy Spirit descended upon me in a manner that seemed to go through me, body and soul, and I could feel the impression, like a wave of electricity going through and through me. Indeed, it seemed to come in waves and waves of liquid love I could not express it any other way. It seemed like the very breath of God." Ephesians 3:19 “and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

The power of God is found in the people of God Ephesians 3:20 “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Question: Who has this kind of faith? Answer: Someone who will not settle for the very small, and very general
