MATERNITY PROTECTION – Private Sector Workers Shop and Office Employees regulation of employment and remuneration of act no 1954 Entitle to get leave for 14 working days prior to confinement and 70 working days after confinement for 1 st and 2 nd live child births Other confinements 42 working days Women worker should not be terminated

MATERNITY PROTECTION – Female estate workers 12 weeks – 2 weeks prior to confinement Women worker is paid 6/7 for the wage ½ hour duration is provided to nurse the baby of under one year Crèche facility should be provided under the law for children under the age of 6 years
