Tunnel Springs Rail Trail

Tunnel Springs Rail Trail is located in North Monroe County connecting Tunnel Springs to Beatrice, Alabama. The Trail is geographically positioned between the Mobile and Montgomery metropolitan areas. It is in the Heart of Southwest Alabama, which is in need of outdoor recreational trails. An Ideal Trail Location Monroeville 84

Quick Snapshot The proposed length of the Trail is approximately 6+ miles. Historic railroad tunnel that spans approximately 500 ft. in length. Trail possesses three trestles, which span several streams, creeks, and ponds. Spans rural countryside that has not been accessible by the public. Importance of Trail Provides much-needed outdoor recreational opportunity for Monroe County and Southwest Alabama. Offers an opportunity to restore 100- year-old historic railroad tunnel and other sites along trail. Improves tourism and other economic impact factors for North Monroe County.
