Study Skills Lesson 2 Dictionary Fun

GUIDE WORDS When you need to know an exact definition for a word, you need to look in the dictionary. Use the guide words to locate the word you are looking for.

Dictionary Entries Each word listed in the dictionary is called an entry word. Each word is followed by the pronunciation, where the word originated, and then the definitions. Each definition is numbered, as one word could have several meanings. Choose the meaning that best fits the context of what you are reading.

Now have some fun… Use your dictionary to answer the following questions. Click on the information button to check your answers.
