The Milky Way By Maddy

Inside The Milky Way might look like this.

This is what people think The Milky Way looks like from Earth.

Vocab! Milky Way-The Milky Way is stars that make a milky white path in the night sky. Light years-Light years are equal to 6 billion miles.

Fun Facts! The Milky Way has a halo but you can’t see it! Also the Milky Way is full of dust and gas. The Milky Way holds over 2 billon stars. Other than the Milky Way there may be more than 100 billon galaxies in space. The Milky Way is 13.2 billon years old.

More Fun Facts! Our galaxy is roughly 100,000 light years to the Milky Way. If you try to take a picture of the Milky Way it would be like taking a picture of the outside of your house from the inside. Other than the Milky Way only three galaxies can be seen with out a telescope.

More Galaxies More galaxies are Triangulun Galaxy, Orin Nebula, Messier 32, Whirlpool Galaxy, Sombrero Galaxy, Messier 81, and Crab Nebula. Hear is a picture of the Triangulun Galaxy.

Questions How old is the Milky Way? What is 6 billon miles equal to? What does the Milky Way have but we can’t see it? What is one galaxy other than the Milky Way? How many galaxies can be seen with out a telescope other than the Milky Way?
