Relative Location Estimation on Wireless Environment 2005 Fall CS492 - Term Project CS492 Team 6 안국진, 이혁준

Project Goal and Scope Relative location estimation among wireless stations in 2D(or 3D) Space –Make algorithms to estimate relative location –We will try on 2D space and if we can we will do also on 3D Space Estimate tolerable distance error –Estimate tolerable distance error for each algorithm

Motivation We can map Logical Location (IP address or MAC address) to Physical Location –We can find somebody in conference room –We can find IP address of somebody without asking We can estimate Locations of STAs when we have AP Location information on Infrastructure Mode –Positioning System (it’s useful) We don’t need any prerequisite information –Except relation between signal strength and distance

Methodology Calculate distance between every two STAs –Signal strength Random deploy and adjusting Sequential deploy on proper position

Methodology (Random Deployment)

Methodology (Sequential Deployment)

Expected Result and Problem Expected Result –Display graph which show STA location –A little bit tolerance about distance error Problem –For real system maybe we need signal strength profiling –Noise level in real environment
