Tunis – March 23, Aims and Objectives of the Project Fair and sustainable production of biomass To improve the efficiency of using locally available organic residues and to turn Açaí residues into an asset To provide extra income opportunities for the local small-scale Açaí processing industries - the Batedores (3,000) To offer extra income opportunities to the local waste pickers – the Collectors (450) VBA Association to provide support, training and technical assistance to Batedores and Collectors To reduce the existing environmental pollution created by dumped residues in Belém and decrease the emission of greenhouse gas (CH4) in Brazil and Europe
