What is a Notification? 30 TAC 330.3(94) - Notification--The act of filing information with the TCEQ for specific solid waste management activities that do not require a permit or a registration. Notification Tier Authorizations are processed via forms generally named “Notice of Intent to Operate…..”

Option 1: Recycling – Scenario 2 Material Types: Metal, Plastic, and Paper Financial Compensation: Yes Combustible Material Stored Outdoors: Yes Does the Owner/Operator need to provide Notification? Yes - financial compensation is received Does Financial Assurance need to be established? Yes - combustible material is stored outdoors.

Option 1: Recycling – Scenario 3 Material Types: Metal, Plastic, and Paper Financial Compensation: No Combustible Material Stored Outdoors: Yes Does the Owner/Operator need to provide Notification? No - financial compensation is not received Does Financial Assurance need to be established? No - exempt from notification.

Option 1: Recycling – Scenario 4 Material Types: Metal, Plastic, and Paper Financial Compensation: Yes Combustible Material Stored Outdoors: Yes *Owner/Operator is affiliated with MSW permit holder Does the Owner/Operator need to provide Notification? No - affiliated with a person who holds a permit to dispose of municipal solid waste Does Financial Assurance need to be established? No - exempt from notification

Option 1: Recycling – Scenario 5 Material Types: Metal, Plastic, and Paper Financial Compensation: Yes Combustible Material Stored Outdoors: Yes *Owner/Operator is a government entity Does the Owner/Operator need to provide Notification? No - entity is a local government or an agency of the state or federal government Does Financial Assurance need to be established? No - exempt from notification

Option 2: Composting – source separated non-industrial materials, exempt composting operation authorized under 332.3(d)(1)(A) Material Types: Vegetative material, wood chips, and manure Combustible Material Stored Outdoors: Yes Source of Material: Public

Option 3: Composting – source separated industrial materials, exempt composting operation authorized under 332.3(d)(1)(B) Material Types: Vegetative material, wood chips, and manure Combustible Material Stored Outdoors: Yes Source of Material: Ranch

Option 4: Mulching – source separated materials, exempt operation authorized under 332.3(d)(3) Material Types: Yard trimmings and wood chips Combustible Material Stored Outdoors: Yes

The facility may consist of one or more storage container, bin, or trailer.
