Series A series is an indicated sum of the terms of a sequence. Finite sequence: 2, 4, 6, 8 Finite series: 2+ 4 + 6 + 8 = 20 Infinite sequence: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, ….. Infinite series: 2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + 10 + …

Sn Sn indicates the sum of the first n terms of the series. S12 means to add up the first 12 terms of the series. S100 means to add up the first 100 terms of the series.

Sum of a Finite Arithmetic Series Find the sum of the first 50 terms of the arithmetic series 11 + 14 + 17 + 20+ ….
