“What Have You Been Told? Mathew 5:21-48

Making Sure We Understand (Matt:5:21-48) Matthew "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Confused? Have you not read? Matthew 12:3-5 3 But He said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him: 4 "how he entered the house of God and ate the showbread which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests? 5 "Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless?

Confused? Have you not read? Matthew 19:4 4 And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,'

Confused? Have you not read? Matthew 22:23-28 23 The same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him, 24 saying: "Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. 25 "Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother. 26 "Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh. 27 "Last of all the woman died also. 28 "Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her."

Confused? Have you not read? Matthew 22:30-32 30 "For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. 31 "But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, 32 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living."

Confused? Have you not read? Mark 12:10 10 "Have you not even read this Scripture: 'The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. Mark 11:28 28 And they said to Him, "By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority to do these things?"

Confused? Have you not read? Mark 12:26 26 "But concerning the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the burning bush passage, how God spoke to him, saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'?

What have you been told? Luke 9:23-24 23 Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. 24 "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.

What have you been told? 2 Corinthians 3:5 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,

What have you been told? Philippians 3:9 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

4 Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life. What have you been told? Psalms 54:4 4 Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life.

What have you been told? Revelation 4:11 11 "You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."

What have you been told? Luke 22:42 42 saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done."

What have you been told? Philippians 3:3 3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,

30 "He must increase, but I must decrease. What have you been told? John 3:30 30 "He must increase, but I must decrease.

What have you been told? 2 Corinthians 3:18 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

What have you been told? 2 Corinthians 5:14 14 For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died;

2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, What have you been told? James 1:2 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,

2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. What have you been told? Galatians 6:2 2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:21 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."

What have you been told? Philippians 2:3 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

What have you been told? Galatians 2:20 20 "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Be Careful About What You Believe! 1 John 4:1-3 NKJV 1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

What have you been told? Hear (Rom. 10:17; Heb. 11:6) Pray, accept Jesus into heart and you will be saved? Or… Hear (Rom. 10:17; Heb. 11:6) Believe (Jn. 3:16) Repent (Lk. 13:3) Confess (Mat. 10:32) Baptized (Mk. 16:16) Grow, Learn, Live Faithfully; lifelong (Re. 2:10)
