Goals to examine dynamic modes of communication to bring international perspectives and content from other countries into this online course. to explore contemporary modes of learning and communication to embed into this course. to collect resources on Agencies, Multinationals, NGO’s that impact education internationally. to compile articles and texts on contemporary issues from many countries and systems of education

Context This is currently the only course in the Global and Comparative Education Certificate program that will be taught fully online, providing a model for future course innovations on multiple modes of literacy and formats with ways to link students to current themes, issues and problems in other countries and develop global citizenship.

Key Problems No single text or resource exists How to access both secondary and primary sources from many countries for comparison and analysis How to “package” content that is current and deals with contemporary issues How to make direct contact with teachers in other countries How to collect ethnographic case studies for analysis How to compile themes into learning modules How to assess and evaluate outcomes
