TEACHER What does a teacher do? Gives information Gives examples Helps form the students Leads the students to a good end Prepares the students for life

Turn to page 53 in your textbook. How did Jesus teach? He taught through parables and sermons. What is a parable? It is a story that uses examples to demonstrate a truth. Can you give an example of Jesus’ parables? The parable of the mustard seed The wedding feast

Sermon on the Mount Jesus’ greatest recorded collection of teachings. Mt 5:1-12 These are the Beatitudes. How can we live these Beatitudes?

Miracles Why did Jesus perform miracles? Miracles were proofs of his divinity and demonstrated his teachings. For example, his Resurrection is proof of his teaching that he is God the Son. The Healing of the Paralytic shows that he can forgive sins, Lk 5:

Disciples Jesus shared his teaching role with his disciples. Today, he teaches through his Church. The teaching Church is called the Magisterium, which is the Pope and the bishops in union with him. With the charism of infallibility, they teach without error on matters of faith and morals.

Us The duty to share the truths of God is shared with every Christian by virtue of his Baptism. How can we live as teachers of the Faith?
