Past Climates fossils of ancient tropical plants and animals are found in Antarctica and Ellesmere Island, Canada ancient glacial features are found in southern Africa Australia, and India Glacial striations from recent Ice Age glaciers show that glaciers moved away from source regions on land near the poles. If Pangaea was reassembled, Permian glaciers would have done the same thing.

Despite all the evidence, Continental Drift was not accepted by scientists of his day because Wegener could not explain: a. what force could move whole continents and b. how continents made of rock could plow through ocean floor made of rock, without disturbing the ocean floor
