"Hello, Dolly!" was a big hit, even as the Beatles were becoming popular in America. "Blueberry Hill" was recorded previously (and better) by Armstrong, but this is still a solid version. Also this is one of the few albums of this type from this period that even sounds great in stereo. Satchmo's voice is in great form as well. Not a bad moment here Reviews/Critiques
I see trees of green, red roses too I see them bloom for me and you And I think to myself what a wonderful world. I see skies of blue and clouds of white The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night And I think to myself what a wonderful world. The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky Are also on the faces of people going by I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do They're really saying I love you. I hear babies crying, I watch them grow They'll learn much more than I'll never know And I think to myself what a wonderful world Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world. [Instrumental Break] The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky Are also on the faces of people going by I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do They're really saying I love you. I hear babies crying, I watch them grow They'll learn much more than I'll never know And I think to myself what a wonderful world Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.v Pros:Louis Armstrong reminding us what a wonderful world it could be. Cons:A few bonus tracks on the CD release would have been nice. The Bottom Line: Louis Armstrong in the twilight of his career proving that he was not only an undisputed master of jazz music, but a social commentator of undeniable depth - recommended.
