Opportunities for young people Comenius – School education:  Class exchanges within Comenius school partnerships to work together on a topic of mutual interest (Multilateral Partnerships) or to develop a language-oriented Bilateral Partnership  Grants for pupils to go to a school in another European country (Pupil Mobility)  School partnerships on-line (eTwinning)

Comenius School Education Pupil mobility Aims of the action – for pupils:  Allow secondary school pupils to spend between 3 and 10 months in a host school and a host family abroad.  Offer European learning experiences to pupils, to develop their understanding of the diversity of European cultures and languages and to help them acquire competences necessary for their personal development.

Comenius School Education Pupil mobility Aims of the action- for schools:  Offer valuable international pedagogic experience to teachers involved in the organisation and implementation of the mobility.  Help build up sustainable cooperation between the participating schools.  Encourage schools to recognise the studies undertaken at the partner school abroad.

Comenius School Education Pupil mobility Basic principles – for pupils:  Aged at least 14, enrolled full-time in an eligible school (Pupils are selected by the sending school)  Stay in host families selected by the host schools  Prepare for the stay abroad  Prepare and sign the learning agreement together with the sending and the host school

Comenius School Education Pupil mobility Basic principles – for schools  Establish a learning agreement between the sending and the host school  Encourage the reciprocity of pupil mobilities between schools and host families  Need to ensure safety of minors The translated Guide is available at the National Agency (NA) website

What does the funding for schools cover?  Grants for participating pupil (monthly allowance and return ticket)  Grants for sending and host school  Grant for linguistic preparation of the pupil provided to the sending school Comenius School Education Pupil mobility

Opportunities for young people Erasmus – Higher education  Grants for students to go abroad to: study at a foreign university do a placement/traineeship in a company abroad Leonardo da Vinci – Initial Vocational Training  Grants for a period of vocational training and/or work experience in a company or a training institution in another participating country

Opportunities for young people Youth in action  Youth Exchanges – groups of young people (aged 13 to 25) from two, three or more different countries to exchange views and experiences on a specific topic  European Voluntary Service for young people (aged 18 to 30) - Full-time voluntary activities in a foreign country within or outside the EU
