Lesson 2: God calls Moses into Duty

Exodus 4:13-16 But he said, "O my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send."14 So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and He said: "Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. 15 Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do.

Exodus 4: So he shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as God.

Chapter 3 A.God’s call to Moses (3:1-10) B.Moses’ First Excuse & God’s Response (3:11-12) C.Moses’ second excuse & God’s response (3:13-22)

Chapter 4 A. Moses’ third excuse & God’s response (4:1-9) A. Moses’ third excuse & God’s response (4:1-9) B. Moses’ fourth excuse & God’s response (4:10-12) C. Moses’ final plea & God’s response (4:13-17)

Lessons for us today 1. God doesn’t accept excuses. 2. God is with His workers and servants. We do not work alone. 3. Isaiah 55:11 – God’s word does not return to Him void or conquered. So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. – Isaiah 55:11

Conclusion Are you making excuses that are keeping you from working for God?
