Areas close to the mountain in both the City Bowl and the Newlands/Fernwood areas are to be avoided. F E R N W O O D R E S I D E N T S A S S O C I A T I O N Air Traffic Control Item 4.7 Present situation: Two basic issues on the agenda dealt with: The institution of blue routes – mandatory flight paths for light aircraft flying under controlled airspace and Noise abatement Proposals for BLUE ROUTES were requested by the end of September and will be forwarded via the Unicity to the Airspace management committee. The process could take up to a year. There is to be a report back meeting sometime in November to discuss progress on this matter Current legal opinion & framework
