Evaluating and improving a Nurse Led Advice Line for Rheumatology Patients and relevant Healthcare Professionals

 Team of 5.6 wte CNS  Advice Line – 250 Hits Per Week  10 Hours Work  Not Funded  Activity not Recorded  Highly Interventional  Rescue Work

 Potential Reduction Of Nursing Resource  Lack of Clarity re CNS Role  Complex Drug Regimes  Change in GP Approach  Commissioning & Competition

 Stakeholder evaluation to identify claims, concerns and issues of the different stakeholder groups  A number of action cycles guided by an action research approach using practice development as an intervention

 Service users, GPs & AHPs who have used the service within a designated 3 month period  The service providers  Other stakeholders including Trust Managers

 Minimum 8 groups in total  Voluntary participation following information  Facilitated by academic researcher  Groups will be recorded  Telephone interviews offered  Data collected anonymised

 Data Qualitatively Analysed by Project Supervisor & CNS Team to Identify Themes/Differences  Identify Priority Actions  CNS Supported through Active Learning to Lead Action Cycles Using Principles of Practice Development
