Wood Products

Planks Any wood the is 1” or less thick

Dimensional Lumber Any lumber in 2” in thickness (remember actually 1 ½”)

Timbers Any lumber that is larger than 2” (ex: 4”x4”, 6”x6”)

Pressure Treated Lumber A wood product that has been treated with chemical preservatives to help make the wood stand up to outdoor element. There are some situations to consider when using this type of lumber. Mainly what the used is for. There are 12 levels of pressure treatment depending on use.

Bluwood Bluwood is a newer product on the market. It is also a treated wood but a preservative is applied to reduce the incidence of mold and damage from termites. This lumber is about 10% more than untreated lumber.
