State Landmarks There are many historical sites and vacation spots in Mississippi. There are many, and I didn’t want to just name three. There is a Marine Life Oceanarium, this has a dolphin interaction program, a sea lion center, and an educational presentation. There are many National Parks such as Brices Cross Roads National Battlefield Site, Gulf Island National Seashore, Natchez Trace Parkway, and many others. There is also the Rainwater Planetarium and Observatory, the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame Museum, Long Beach, Waveland Beach, Okitabbee Lake, Sardi Lake, and many, many more.

State Landmarks Vicksburg National Military Park is 116 acres filled with the remains of 17,000 Civil War Union soldiers. These soldiers are buried here because it is a site of a Civil War battle. The Civil War took place in 1863, and the park was established in Many people are still coming to learn more about the Civil War and it’s elements.

State Landmarks The beaches of Mississippi are a favorite destination due to the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. There are many other places to go and do around the beaches. There are many plants and wildlife around the beaches, and there is a boardwalk. It has recovered from Hurricane Katrina and is huge tourist spot for travelers.

State Landmarks The Mississippi Petrified forest is National Landmark that features 35-million-year-old fossilized logs. This once massive forest was uprooted during a flood.
