Sir Thomas Malory (ca )

Malory’s Works  “Le Morte d’ Arthur”(1469)  He created the most extensive work of English prose up to that time.  He wrote the most complete account of the legends of King Arthur and his knights of the round table ever written.  In 1451, he was arrested for attacking a religious house.  He wrote it while in prison between 1469 and 1470.

His works (cont’d)  Scholars are not certain of the identity of Malory.  It is likely that the author was one Thomas Malory born into a wealthy family in Warwickshire, England.  He died two years after he wrote the complete manuscript of Le Morte d’ Arthur in prison.
