Presentation transcript:

Children should be bringing their “bricks” with them to build a wall. Encourage them to add theirs to the wall before finding their seat! Welcome them and introduce the Connect Question. Question: Who is someone you look up to, or is your role model? Why?

We’ve learned that through Joseph, God’s people, the Israelites came to Egypt. After they had lived there for a long time, they had become the Egyptians’ slaves! They were mostly responsible for making bricks and using them to build the giant palaces, pyramids, and statues we can still see today. After 400 years, God freed them from slavery, And they left Egypt to find their own homeland.

To remember this event, the Israelites celebrated the Passover at the beginning of every year. Families and friends gathered for a meal, where they talked about the stories of slavery in Egypt and God’s powerful acts to deliver Israel. Passover was a time when everyone stopped working and praised God for His faithfulness. We’re going to take time this week to remember and celebrate God’s faithfulness! Let’s stand and worship together.

Worship time:

Are you ready to play ZONK!??! (Make sure to do your best game show host impression!) Share with the group how to play ZONK! I’m going to split the room into 2 teams (split left side and right side) Each team will decide on their answer for every question and send a representative up to share their team’s answer.

After both teams guess and I reveal the answer, whoever got it correct can draw a card from the bucket. It could be a point card, and it could be a ZONK! card! If you draw a ZONK! card, your team loses its points and you can draw an activity card. The WHOLE team must participate in the ZONK! activity! Are you ready to play?! (Tech: Cue ZONK vid) Instruct the 2 sides to move together to discuss their answers!

10) True or False: Even though Joseph’s brothers meant to harm Joseph, God used even this situation for good. ANSWER: True. God knew that even though things were hard for Joseph for a while, He planned to work all of the hard things together for good. Have kids find their seats again… Congratulate them on a great game!

Invite children to look back at how they’ve experienced God during the past several lessons. Discuss the WORSHIP RESPONSE and CREATE/ENGAGE pieces and encourage kids to share memories of those response experiences or activities.

1.1 Our first Sunday, we wrote encouragement notes to people. How did it feel to bless someone else with a note? What are some other ways you’ve been able to bless others recently? 1.2 Point out the HOPE Posters. The second week you drew outlines of your hands as a way to declare that you want to step into the hope of God’s promises. What are some of God’s promises? How do they give you hope?

1.3 Point out the Black Posters. God is over all things. Even so, it’s sometimes hard to trust and obey Him. How can we know God is Lord of our lives? How can we show God we trust that He is in charge? 1.4 Point out the Blessing Poster. What does Jesus say about being blessed? What do you think it means to be blessed, as a child of God?

1.5 During this lesson you thought about how God has used hard things in your lives for good. Is there something in your life now that you’re trusting God to use for good? If you’re comfortable, share it with us. What does the word deliver mean? How did God deliver people in the Old Testament? How did God deliver people through Jesus? How has God been the Deliverer in your life?

After kids have had a chance to share/discuss, introduce the Celebration Stations! 1.Snack 2.Worship 3.Prayer Wall – Giving Thanks; children can write a prayer of thanksgiving and post it on the prayer wall. 4.Placemats for Kairos Prison Ministry Have leaders go to various stations to help children/ keep them focused.
