Twenty-second winter Olympic games in Sochi, perhaps one of the most significant events of last time. The seventh of February all the world has witnessed the enchanting spectacle - the opening of the games.

The opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics was held at Fisht Olympic Stadium, an indoor arena built specifically for the ceremonies. 20 February - third victory in figure skating. After the team tournament of the attention was focused on Yulia Lipnitsky, but 15-year-old figure skater, unfortunately, has made errors in both programs. But Adelina Sotnikova skated brilliantly and managed to get ahead of the Korean Kim Yu- Na - other competitors from this couple was not.

February 21 - day short track: in this sport we won two more gold medals in a row. First Victor An, zasidelis at the start, still bypassed all on half-kilometer distance, and less than an hour he together with partners in the Russian national team was stronger than all, and in the relay!

Wilde not behind namesake Victor and also managed to take second personal gold - this time in a parallel slalom. During the semi- finals seemed that the chances of Vika is already there: after the error it gave way to the opponent more of a second. But Wilde brilliantly conducted a second attempt and still made it to the finals. And there reaffirmed their own superiority. 10th Russian gold at the Games and everything began to dream about the victory in the unofficial standings of teams...

In the evening of 22 February joy came from already didn't waiting for: the first place was taken by the men's national team on biathlon. Volkov, Ustyugov, Malyshko and Shipulin the distance were somewhere next to the first position, and at the finish Anton confirmed the title of a great finisher, leaving behind the competitor from Germany. Triumph!

February 23 to break the negative trend could and Russian skiers, Yes! On a distance of 50 kilometers Russians captured all the places on the podium, well, won absolutely deserved this is Alexander Legkov. Before that in many respects he pulled the team to second place in the relay, and Sunday had paid him for the brilliant relay jerk.

Perhaps symbolic that the last Russian gold of the Games was won by the standard-bearer. In a tough struggle with Latvians four running Zubkov still retained the first place. 13 gold medals - who would have thought!

The closing ceremony of the XXII winter Olympic Games took place on February 23, 2014 at the Olympic stadium in Sochi, began at 20:14 Moscow time and lasted for 2.5 hours.
