The new System of voluntary Transparency Albert Moser Director Business Development European Energy Exchange AG Copenhagen, June 27 th, 2006

2 Introduction German producers EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, RWE AG, E.ON Energie AG and Vattenfall Europe AG started an initiative to publish generation data on a central information platform. The public information platform ( is organized by EEX. Participation is voluntary for producers. Data publication started on April 10th, Publication rules are set out in a bilateral standard contracts between EEX and producers. About requests per month.

3 Scope of Generation Data Published Installed capacity - aggregated per fuel type (nuclear, lignite, hard coal, gas, oil, water, other) - Updated every quarter year Available capacity - daily figures - aggregated per fuel type (nuclear, lignite, hard coal, gas, oil, water, other) - for the next 365 days - daily updated at 10 a.m. Historic production - hourly figures - aggregated per fuel type (nuclear, lignite, hard coal, gas, oil, water, other) - publication at 4:30 p.m. on the following business day List of generation units - name and fuel type - updated when required

4 Publication Rules Generation units being covered - > 20 MW - nuclear, lignite, hard coal, gas, oil, water and other - wind and pump storage are excluded Obligations for data delivery - mandatory data delivery for generation units fully owned - voluntary data delivery for generation units partially owned Data to be delivered - scope - format - time schedule for data delivery Processing by EEX - aggregation rules - plausibility checks - publication time table - free access to published data Confidentiality
