Malachi 3: "From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My statutes, and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you," says the LORD of hosts. "But you say, 'How shall we return?‘ 8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, 'How have we robbed Thee?' In tithes and offerings. 9 "You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the whole nation of you!

Malachi 3: "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.

What is Tithing? Mathematically it is a tenth – “an of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee” Genesis 28:11 Scripturally it is the law – “Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase” Deut. 14:22 Morally it is a debt – “wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.” Malachi 3:8

What is Tithing? Economically it is an investment – “but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven” Matthew 6:20 Spiritually it is a blessing – “I will open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10

God’s Proportion …the whole tithe… 1.It is a fair way 2. It is an effective way 3. It is a loving way

God’s Place …into the storehouse... “On the first day of every week let each one of you put aside and save, as he may prosper, that no collections be made when I come.” 1 Corinthians 16:2

God’s Purpose …that there might be food in my house... For the sons of Israel and the sons of Levi shall bring the contribution of the grain, the new wine and the oil, to the chambers; there are the utensils of the sanctuary, the priests who are ministering, the gatekeepers, and the singers. Thus we will not neglect the house of our God. Nehemiah 10:39
