Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) Signed into law on March 23, 2010 expanding Medicaid eligibility subsidizing insurance premiums providing incentives for business to provide health care benefits prohibiting denial of coverage/claims based on pre-existing conditions establishing health insurance exchanges (organized marketplace for the purchase of health insurance set up by the government with consumer protection in mind) support for medical research

Paying for Obamacare Costs will be offset by a variety of taxes, fees, and cost- saving measures New Medicare taxes for high-income brackets taxes on indoor tanning tax penalties for citizens who do not obtain health insurance (unless exempt due to low income) Obama's Health Care Reforms
