Balance Spreadsheet The balance spreadsheet is easy to use and will tell you if you have made any mistake. The amount in this line is generated from the previous month. Automatically generated. Amount from your receivables Petty Cash amount Amount from your Expenses Amount less petty cash (calculated automatically) Amount you have in the bank per your records amount shown on the bank statement Checks not cashed Total Amount you have in the bank per the bank statement This sheet shows the month of Oct is balanced

Balance Spreadsheet If the month is not balanced, there is a mistake in one of the following areas. 1.You have an expense or receipt not entered 2.You may have made a check for a different amount shown on your expense sheet. 3.A check may not have been cashed and has expired 4.A check may still be outstanding and not recorded 5.incorrect entry of the bank statement entered 6.May be others Cancelled checks should be entered here Checks not cashed prior to the statement should be entered here

Balance Spreadsheet I found this spreadsheets to be very helpful. this verifies all your entries, because you are comparing your entries to the banks entries. In one case I hade made a check for $60.10 and I had entered the amount in my expense sheet as $60.00 All my reports sheet showed a balance month. When I applied the information to the balanced sheet I was 10 ¢ out. This mistake took me 2 hours to find. At first I suspected my spreadsheet, then I suspected a bank error (ha ha banks don’t make mistakes) at this point I started to verify my amounts against the bank amount and found my mistake. Because the check was three monts late in being cashed I had to go back three months and make the corrections. (that took another 2 hours) Make sure you check all your amounts against the bank statement, check to make sure all checks are accounted for, check for the proper amount on the bank statement. After all your entries if you get Mois balancé you can be confident that all your entries are correct.

Balance Spreadsheet Now you have all the tools need to keep track of the receipts and expenses end of this presentation
