Unami Middle School Math DepartmentName: _________________________ Algebra 1 Keystone PrepDate: __________________________ This year you will take the Algebra 1 Keystone Exam. This exam covers the content of Algebra 1, however it requires high level problem solving and multi step application problems. To review and prepare for this exam, you will be completing review assignments each week. All of the assignments shown below are available on an online program, Study Island. Each lesson must be completed with at least 70% proficiency. A calculator is allowed on all assignments. Study Island Log-In and Assignment Information 1.) Go to 2.) Click on StudyIsland Member Login 3.) To sign in type in your full name as: LastFirst.cbsd Your password is ) Click on the My Class period 5.) Click on the assignment (Notice the due date under the assignment) 6.) Click on one of the topics to get started (Most weeks there will only be one topic, some weeks there will be two topics to complete) 7.) Click on Practice Mode and then click the green box with next 8.) Answer all the questions until a box comes on the screen that says ‘Session End’, click end session (you must answer each question correctly before moving on, if you want to see how to get the correct answer click the explanation) 9.) You will receive completion points for each assignment. In order to receive full credit, you must get an overall grade of 70% or better on 10 questions (minimum), or complete at least 30 questions. Note: When checking your topic completion you may need to log out and log back in to see an updated percent Suggestions for Success: Assignments are opened each Thursday. You will have until the end of the day on the following Wednesday to complete the assignment. Use the Study Island lesson plans. If you find that you are consistently getting problems wrong, view the lesson that is associated. This may help you to understand your error and complete the task. It may be a good idea to view it prior to the assignment. Keep a notebook of work. Although these problems are completed on the computer, you will need scrap paper to work out problems. Keep a notebook of all of your work throughout your Study Island experience. If you are really stuck on a problem, write it down and bring it to class for review on Thursday or your teacher the question. Use test-taking strategies. You may find that using test-taking strategies will be very beneficial. One of the best strategies is to cross off the wrong answers before you pick the correct one. Almost always, two of the answers will cancel out immediately giving you a good chance to get the problem correct. Use the back of this sheet to track and organize your progress. If you are unable to have computer access, get a resource pass to the Library or a computer lab prior to the due date. START DATE JANUARY 8, 2015
