Conserving Energy

Questions to Start What does it mean to “conserve” energy? Why do you think it is important to conserve energy? What kinds of things can we do to help conserve energy?

A Few Terms to Start Watt (W) - Unit for measuring how much electricity a certain electrical device uses. Kilowatt Hour (KWh) - Amount of energy consumed if device was left on for an hour - The more watts or kilowatt hours a device is rated for, the more electricity produced

Look at the wattage of light bulbs. How many different ones do we know? What do these differences mean?

What Are Ways We Know How To Conserve Energy? How does conserving energy affect our family budgets? How does wasting energy affect the environment?
