International Trade Committee Achievements & Activities 2014  Trade regimes, FTA’s and restrictions The Committee updated members on trade regimes, embargoes and trade defence instruments: Analysis of various Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and trade pacts being negotiated. Provision of information on relevant anti-dumping investigations. Monitoring of various embargoes and restrictions for example on, Iran, Syria and Russia amongst others.  Emerging markets Regularly provided members with updated economic data, reports and studies on emerging markets and chemical industry trends.  Fecc representation Fecc Representation at the EuroCommerce International Trade Committee, DG Trade Market Access Working Group on Chemicals, EuroCommerce Exports Working and the EU Russia Regulatory dialogue - subgroup on chemicals.

 Distributor/agent and principal issues Fecc model Distribution agreement – Draft available IT Meeting focusing on distribution contracts – 13 November Presentation by law firm - Steptoe & Johnson LLP.  European Commission consultations  Responded to the following consultations (6 in total) Public consultation on investment protection and investor-to-state dispute settlement (ISDS) in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Agreement (TTIP). European Commission Public consultation on the Small Business Act (SBA). Public consultation on the Evaluation of the Commercial Agents Directive (86/653/EEC). Public consultation on the Commission's Stakeholder Consultation guidelines. Public consultation on the revision of the Commission's Impact Assessment guidelines. Public consultation on the EU 2020 Strategy.  Contribute to the High Level Commission study on the cumulative legislation cost assessment for the chemical industry.

International Trade Committee Work Plan 2015 Provision of information on emerging markets Analysis of economic data from different countries and regions and providing this to members. Likely regions and countries include Middle East, South East Asia and China. Presentations on the economic climate, investment opportunities, access to credits, special programmes, chemical associations and related aspects in emerging markets. Update members on regulations affecting trade and chemical distribution. Distribute market studies and other publications available to members. Organise market focused international trade meetings and attract potential Fecc members to attend. Continue work on distributor/agent and principal issues.

Work Plan 2015 Continue monitoring and providing regular updates on: Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) Anti dumping investigations and anti-subsidy measures EU regulations on sanctions Other tariff and non-tariff barriers Monitoring the Russia Round Table discussions and the Customs Union. Participation in DG Trade Market Access Working Group on Chemicals and the Eurocommerce International Trade Committee. Respond to European Commission consultations and increase involvement in other advocacy initiatives.
