Confused? Prayer is the Answer! 2 Chronicles 20: June 2013

Pattern of overcoming problems thru Prayer 1. God is interested in your problem Psalm 46:1 1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever- present help in trouble. Psalm 55:22 2 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

Cont. God is interested in your problem. *Three armies coming to attack his kingdom. 2 Chronicles 20:3 3 Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. So whatever you are facing at this moment, God is personally interested in the problem you are facing no matter what it is.

2. God is greater than your problem 2 Chronicles 20:5 “Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. * Facing big problem ( 3 armies) - defeating them in battle - destroying their homes - robbing them of their valuables

His response was the same as that of Jeremiah Jeremiah 32:17, “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. 27 “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?

3. First Response is to seek the Lord First 2 Chronicles 20:3 (Amplified) 3 Then Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself [determinedly, as his vital need] to seek the Lord; he proclaimed a fast in all Judah.

4. God May want to involve other people praying for your situation. 2 Chronicles 20:3-4 3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 4 So Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord ; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.

5. God will always provide a solution to your problem 2 Chronicles 20: Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

6. Prayers should be God Centred and not problem centred 2 Chronicles 20:6-12 Focused on Gods power and promises Search the word of God and find those that talk about who God is

7. God solutions always requires an act of faith 2 Chronicle 20:16-23 Almost always when we face difficult situations it will challenge our faith.

8. God solutions is always the best. 2 Chronicle 20:24-30 God solution is always the best if you are willing to trust Him

Conclusion Do you believe that God is interested in your confusion, heartaches, pain, suffering problems... Do you believe that He is greater than your problem? Do you believe that he is able to help you overcome any problem? In God’s hands, problems are not roadblock but an opportunity for you to develop a more intimate relationship.
