Why is it Important to see the Big Picture?

Jesus often gave word pictures to help us understand the Kingdom of God.

The Kingdom of God is like… a farmer who sowed seed a farmer who sowed seed treasure hidden in a field treasure hidden in a field a net that caught many kinds of fish a net that caught many kinds of fish the landowner who hired workers the landowner who hired workers the King who gave a wedding banquet for His Son the King who gave a wedding banquet for His Son

Interpreting Scripture: 1. What did it mean to the hearers in that day? 2. What does it mean to us today?

v. 19 Kingdom of God is like… …a mustard seed which grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.
