Mr. Cheny POW Hanoi Hilton Thursday, November 18, 2010 Ellen & Megan

Mr. Cheny was a POW in Vietnam for a year and a half. He described how the North Vietnamese cleaned his wounds and then dragged him through the country stopping at the villages, and of the torture that he went through upon arrival to the prison. He also described life in prison and different ways that the Americans could communicate with each other.

He told us about taking a bath in the prison’s drinking water and meeting his college room mate’s father. It was really cool to hear how they would communicate, through tap-code, whistling, or even making signals across the courtyard.
