Tensions In Texas A fight breaks out

A. Mexican Constitution of The Constitution of 1824 was put into place after Mexico won their independence from Spain and was based on states’ rights. (States have the right to make decisions not the federal government)

A. Mexican Constitution of Texans liked having State’s Rights because they were use to that type of government in America.

A. Mexican Constitution of The constitution of 1824 was a landmark document because it was the first constitution in Texas.

B. Law of April 6, In attempts to control the number of Anglos in Texas, Mexico outlawed immigration into Texas by Anglos, but encouraged Mexicans and Europeans to move in.

B. Law of April 6, The Law of April 6, 1830 also put customs duties on all goods entering from American into Texas. (Taxes)

D. Needs and Wants 5. Upon Stephen F. Austin’s return to Texas from Mexico, his letter asking for Independence was intercepted by Mexican officials, and he is arrested for treason against the Mexican government.

E. Armed Conflict Begins 1. After Stephen F. Austin’s release from jail, he returns to Texas, but realizes he cannot make peace.
