Conclusion to the 10 Commandments Lesson 15

What does God demand? ► Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV) 37 Jesus replied: ”‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

What does God demand? 1. That we love him above all things! 2. That we love our neighbor as ourselves!

What does God demand? ► 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 (NIV) 13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

What does God demand? 1. That we love him above all things! 2. That we love our neighbor as ourselves. 3. That we love with thoughts, words and actions.

How do I react to the 10 Commandments? ► 1 John 1:8 (NIV) 8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

How do I react to the 10 Commandments? ► ► (James 2:10 NIV) 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

How do I react to the 10 Commandments? ► Matthew 10:28 (NIV) 28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

How do I react to the 10 Commandments? 1. I confess my sins admitting that I can’t earn heaven by my works – I also recognize God’s anger at my sin.

How do I react to the 10 Commandments? ► Romans 3:20 (NIV) 20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

How do I react to the 10 Commandments? ► Romans 3:23-24 (NIV) 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

How do I react to the 10 Commandments? ► Romans 3:28 (NIV) 28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.

How do I react to the 10 Commandments? ► ► Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV) 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

How do I react to the 10 Commandments? ► ► Joshua 1:8 (NIV) 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
