Today I will be travelling by plane to Phuket from Sydney with a great deal of $799 from Flight Centre and then travelling by boat to Koh Phi Phi Island to stay for a day at the beach. Page 2

Traditional Festivals In Thailand they celebrate heaps more festivals than us. Here are most of the festivals they celebrate in Thailand. 1st January: New Years Day 8th January: Students' Day 16th January: Teachers ’ Day 9th February: Chinese New Year 23rd February: Magha Buddha Day 6th April: Chakri Day 13th-15th April: Songkran Day 1st May: National Labour Day 5th May: Coronation Day 11th May: Royal Ploughing Ceremony 22nd May: Visakha Bucha 21st July: Asahna Pucha Day 22nd July: Buddhist Lent And many more. In every village town in Thailand, the national flag is raised each day at 8.00 a.m. and lowered at 6.00 p.m. The national anthem is played during these ceremonies. The flag has five horizo ntal stripes. From top to bottom, the colour s are red, white, blue, white, and red. The red stripes stand for the nation and the white ones for religio n. The wider blue band in the center, occupy ing one- third of the total area, symbo lizes the monar chy. These three concep ts --- nation, religio n and monar chy --- unite the Thai people. Traditional Clothing Traditional Clothing in Thailand In Thailand they don’t wear to much traditional clothing unless they are going to a party or a wedding. Normally they would just wear casual like us. Here are some pictures of their traditional clothing.
