Introduction Oh! I didn’t see you there! Welcome, welcome! This slide show is about the wonderful and amazing planet, Venus! Today you will learn all of the things that make Venus such an amazing planet. So sit down and listen to these interesting and fascinating facts!

Surface And Atmosphere This slide will be about Venus’s surface and atmosphere. Scientists think that Venus has a rocky surface. Also in the landscape of Venus, there are many volcanoes, creators, and even a few valleys! Venus’s atmosphere is filled with carbon dioxide. Hiding Venus from view are huge clouds that are filled with carbon dioxide that surround the planet.

Temperature, Circumference and Diameter Venus is the hottest planet of all, even hotter than Mercury, which is the closest planet to the sun. Venus’s temperature is 899 fahrenheit (480 celsius.) Venus’s Diameter is 7,521 miles. Venus and Earth are called twin sisters, this because of their sizes.

Moons And Distance From The Sun Lots of planets have many moons much like Earth’s moon that is spinning around Earth as you read. Some planets even have hundreds of moons, but Venus has no moons, zero, nothing. Venus is also two planets away from the sun.

Miles From Earth And Rotation At its farthest, Venus is 162 million, let me say it again, million, miles from Earth! It also takes Venus 243 days to rotate. So that means that Venus’s days are 243 Earth days combined into one day. Just imagine how many hours that would take! Let me do the math… Nah, you can do it!

Revolving And Names Most planets if not all are named after Gods and Goddesses. Venus is named after the Goddess of love, beauty and Springtime! If you did not know, revolve means (for planets) how long it takes to travel around the sun (this tells you how long the planet's year is.) It takes Venus 225 day to revolve.

Fun/Important Facts! 1.Anyone standing on Venus could be crushed because of the high temperatures! 2.Sometimes you can see Venus in the sky, looking like a glowing smile. 3.Venus and Earth are called twin sisters because they are so close in size. 4.Venus is called a “stormy desert” because of they volcanoes and craters.
