introduction As modern technology continues to move forward and dramatically reshape practical medical: doctors are needed to embrace((يغتنم progress in order to keep up with the changing needs of society.   In order to reach out to patients and stay relevant(مناسب) in the modern world.

Telemedicine Telemedicine is a rapidly developing application of clinical medicine where medical information is transferred through the phone or the Internet and sometimes other networks for the purpose of consulting((الاستشارات, and sometimes remote medical procedures or examinations((الفحوصات.

telehealth telemedicine often refers only to the provision of clinical services . while the term telehealth can refer to clinical and non-clinical services such as medical education, and research. telehealth, electronic medical records, and other components of health IT.

Types of telemedicine Telemedicine can be broken into three main categories: store-and-forward. interactive services. remote monitoring.

Store-and-forward Store-and-forward telemedicine involves (تشمل) acquiring medical data (like medical images, biosignals etc) and then transmitting this data to a doctor or medical specialist at a convenient time offline. It does not require the presence of both parties at the same time.

Interactive telemedicine Interactive telemedicine services provide real-time interactions between patient and provider, to include phone conversations, online communication and home visits. Many activities such as physical examination, psychiatric(الاخصائى النفسى) evaluations تقييم))

Remote monitoring Remote monitoring, also known as self-monitoring/testing, enables medical professionals to monitor a patient remotely using various technological devices. In remote monitoring, sensors are used to capture and transmit biometric data. For example robotic surgery which have monitor to tell doctor about sergury and can control it

Teleconsultation Connect professionals to share data and obtain expert opinion. For example video consultation.

Robotic surgery Robotic surgery is the use of robots in performing surgery. TWO major advances aided by surgical robots have been remote surgeryand unmanned surgery. Some major advantages of robotic surgery are precision, smaller incisions ((فتح جراحى صغير decreased blood loss, less pain, and quicker healing time.

satellite technology and video-conferencing equipment using to conduct a real-time consultation between medical

benefits of Telemedicine Improved quality. lower cost of equipment. Reduction in the distance barriers. Reduced visits to specialty hospitals. Quick and timely follow-up of patients. to reduce the waiting lists in specialised health care To save money!

Some examples of telemedicine Teleconsultation(الاستشارات) Telemonitoring((الاتصال عبر شاشات العرض Telediagnosis(التشخيص) Teletreatment(العلاج) telecare-provision((العناية والوقاية

Why is not popular The “usual suspects”: Reimbursement((تعويض issues(انبثاق) Not always a factor((الوسيط Could be largely solved in many cases by having the true beneficiaries ( (المستفيدونpatients pay. Law/licensure problems((مشكلة منح الرخصة Generally a non-issue in practice. Poor physician acceptance May be true, but is this cause or affect? Complex technology and implementation.
