N OAH : F ROM A RK B UILDER TO H OME B UILDER Noah lived in a very wicked society “The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on earth has become, and every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.” Verse 5 Result of the “FALL”

N OAH : F ROM A RK B UILDER TO H OME B UILDER Noah lived in a very wicked society “Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence…..all the people of the earth had corrupted their ways.” Vv “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created from the face of the earth…..” Verse 7 NOAH “Comfort”

I. N OAH W ALKED WITH G OD Genesis 6: 8-9 “But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD…… Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.” 1. Close intimate relationship with God Walk with God=Talk with God

I. N OAH W ALKED WITH G OD 1. Close intimate relationship with God 2. To be in step with God Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together except they agree?” Walk with God=In Step with God=Agree with God

I. N OAH W ALKED WITH G OD Noah had excuses of not walking with God Noah had a big job to do “Ark” 450 X 75 X 45 “Noah did everything just as God had commanded him.” Verse 23 “too busy doing “God’s work” Are we too busy being an “ark builder”?

N OAH W ITNESSED OF G OD II Peter 2:5 “If He (God) did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness…..” Hebrews 11:7 “By faith, Noah when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By His faith, he condemned the world and became heir of righteousness that comes by faith.”

II. N OAH W ITNESSED OF G OD 1. Noah witness of God by living a life of righteousness by faith “By His faith, he condemned the world and became heir of righteousness that comes by faith.” Heb. 11:7b Austin Sorenson: “A child is not likely to find a father in God unless he finds something of God in his father.”

II. N OAH W ITNESSED OF G OD 1. Noah lived a life of righteousness by faith 2. Noah preached God’s righteousness by faith II Peter 2:5 “If He (God) did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness…..”

II. N OAH W ITNESSED OF G OD How Long did Noah preach? 120 years I Peter 3:20 “…who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built.”

N OAH W ON HIS FAMILY TO G OD Noah saved his family! “(Noah)…in holy fear, build an ark for his family” Hebrews 11:7 Genesis 7: 1 “The Lord said to Noah, ‘go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteousness in this generation.” Genesis 7: 7 “And Noah and his sons and his wife and his son’s wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.”
