Top Tips for PCs / laptops From “Greening ICT in Government” (2008):  Consolidate  Basic power management on PCs (including turning off active screensavers)  Trickle-down re-use  High-efficiency and eco-labelled PCs  Consider thin client for fixed office users (will be viable for mobile users soon)

Reducing our desktop impact  Understanding the needs of your users  Consolidate by buying appropriate technology  Use second screens rather than second PCs  Use thin client where practical  Specify EPEAT gold systems (  Incorporates EnergyStar 4 efficiency standards  PC sharing for smaller organisations
