Presentation transcript:

FDSN WG-1 Station siting and instrumentation The issues we should discuss at the meeting would be: 1)updates of FDSN station inventory (regional coordinators (new young people)). 2) increase data availability 3)items that may be added in the station inventory, such as realtime data transmission, data center. 4) current status of replacement of STS-1 seismometer (if any). 5) quality control of clock 6) New format for inventory (XML?)

(1) regional coordinator One or two persons are assigned as regional coordinator for following regions, who will be responsible for the station inventory of each region North America South America Europe Africa Central Asia, Middle East Rissia Asia, Australia

(2) To increase data availability, we have a new column “data center” in the inventory. (3) Definition of the FDSN backbone network will be discussed in the small group inside WG-1. We will have a new column “timliness” instead of “accessibility” in the inventory, whocse entries aree “RT”, “AD”, and “TD”.

(4) Replacement of STS-1 There is a new electronics for STS-1 but no replacement of sensor still. (5) Quality control of clock To be continuosly discussed in WG-3 (6) New format for inventory It will be proposed by the next FDSN meeting.
