Definitions of Pathway types What is a Career Pathway? A career pathway is three (3) credits of pre planned and sequential courses required for graduation designed to develop knowledge and skills in a particular career or academic area. The Career Pathway shall be included in the Student Success Plan.

Definitions of Pathway types What is a CTE Pathway? A CTE pathway is a career pathway comprised of three (3) or more pre-planned, sequential, and state-approved CTE courses. CTE pathways provide students effective technical and academic preparation for entry into high- skill, high-wage, high-demand occupations while preparing for postsecondary learning.

Definitions of Pathway types What is an Integrated Pathway? An integrated pathway is a career pathway that consists of a combination of three (3) or more pre- planned and sequential CTE and NCLB content area courses as a planned sequential program of study designed to develop knowledge and skills in a particular career or academic area.

Definitions of Pathway types What is a Non-CTE Pathway? A non-CTE pathway is a career pathway that consists of a set of three (3) or more pre-planned and sequential, NCLB content area courses designed to develop knowledge and skills in a particular career or academic area. Non- CTE pathway courses must be in addition to other academic courses required for graduation.

CTE Enrollment Levels CTE Participant: A student who has completed at least one course in any CTE program area. CTE Concentrator: A student who has successfully completed at least fifty percent of the credits required to complete a state-approved CTE pathway of sequenced courses, and is enrolled in a course at the next level in the same pathway.
